PARENTAL POLICY
Parental Policy and Age Guidelines for Mireu Martial Arts
Mireu Martial Arts is a place where we cherish the uniqueness of each child and person who participates, but we still need to ensure a safe and focused atmosphere where everyone can learn.
To ensure the safety of everyone we have instituted a set of guidelines for all children (4 - 14 years old) who participate in our martial arts programs.
-
Children must be able to participate independently in class; following the instructors and higher belts.
-
Children must be able to participate in group learning sessions.
-
Children must be able to respond to redirection (from an instructor or parent/guardian).
-
Children who do not fall under the age categories below that require special accommodations (medical or behavioral) will be asked to follow Guideline #3.
Guideline #1: Children 4 - 6 y/o must have a parent/guardian* inside the dojang while the child is participating in activities.
Guideline #2: Children 7 - 9 y/o must have a parent/guardian on the Mireu Martial Arts property (inside or outside the dojang is acceptable) while the child is participating in activities.
Guideline #3: During the first 2 - 3 months, children 10 - 14 y/o must have a parent/guardian on the Mireu Martial Arts property while we get to know each child’s individual needs.
*Guardians must be 18 years or older.
Any parent or guardian that is responsible for a child must have an active phone number in our Kicksite system. If a child seems to need a special accommodation (medical or behavioral) during a class, we will call you if you are not on site.
