How to Join – Parents train free when signing child/youth
How do I join?
Beginners can start at anytime, we do not go by sessions. We will provide one on one instruction when needed. All you need to do is show up during regular practice times. You are welcome to either watch or jump right in on your first day. We train all ages together 3 years old to adult.
How class begins.
Students arrive at the school (“Dojang” (Korean name martial art’s school)) 15 minutes prior to class time to stretch and practice forms.
Students say hello to instructors by bowing and saying 단결 Dangyeol (meaning:
Unity). Symbolizing unity amongst each other, unity with other martial arts
students/schools, unity with the world as a whole.
What do I wear?
New members should wear comfortable athletic clothes like workout pants and a long-sleeved t-shirt. We practice in bare feet.
Do I have to sign up right away? Can I try it before I join?
You do not have to sign up right away. Please feel free to try out one of our martial arts classes before you commit.
Which martial art should I do?
Everyone is different. Read about Taekwondo, Kumdo, Aikido and Kyudo to see what meets your goals. If you are age 11 or up you are welcome to join either Kumdo or Taekwondo. Aikido you need to be 18 years old + and Kyudo you need to be min 5 foot tall due to the length of the bow.
Students under age 11 will begin with Taekwondo.
As an additional class to Taekwondo we offer weapons class and beginners Kumdo on Saturday afternoons 4:30 pm for all ages.
How much does it cost? Approximately $99 per month for Taekwondo and Kumdo. Aikido and Kyudo $20 per month.

How long does it take to get a black belt?
It is different for every person. Each martial art has different skills and time-in-rank requirements, in addition to participating in tournaments, demonstrations, and teaching responsibilities. On average, it is possible to achieve a black belt in about 3-4 years, if one attends class frequently and consistently. This is for Taekwondo and Kumdo
I already have rank in martial arts from another school. What should I do?
Generally, we honor rank from other clubs. You are welcome to practice with us. Please be ready to accept and learn our forms and techniques.
We are welcoming to all, we strive to insure there will be no differences in the treatment of persons because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity.
